Soup at the Hull House

The Jane Adams Hull House, as many of you may know, is located here in Chicago and, in fact, on my university campus.

Every Tuesday during the academic year they provide free soup (in hearty portions) and a lecture. Themes this year have included immigration, genocide, civil war and economic policy.

Though the lectures have been fascinating, for this last soup day I opted to sit outside and enjoy the lentil soup in the courtyard - a little oasis from the city and a welcome break from the stress of finals week.

p.s. Thank you all for your oh-so-sweet comments yesterday. I was writing a paper from morning to night and your comments throughout the day were little sparks of glitter in an exhausting day :)

I like this idea so much--soup and a lecture.
It's important to take a step back and enjoy a moment in your own way sometimes. You got it down right.

i miss university life ~ not the exams, but the lectures, the campus, the beauty of filling your mind with knowledge, and growing your soul.

i'm glad you took the soup outside, for you really enjoyed the moment and the natural glory around you.

That's such a good idea!! I wish my university did that, the food looks lovely. And what a beautiful place to sit! Cherry blossoms are one of my favourite things in the world.

Also I hate blog competitions like that too, grr! You should definitely get photos done, you'd look fantastic!!

Good luck with study, you'll do great :) xoxo
