Pied-A-Terre

I love living with my man. Waking up next to him every morning, the cuddles, the little romantic moments amidst the everyday routine.

But (this is an inconsequential "but", not to worry!), living with a man means a change in decor, a merging of two aesthetics - of the masculine and feminine.

Sometimes, I dream of  a completely feminine pied-a-terre. A getaway for afternoon tea with the girlfriends, slumber parties and at-home spa days.

It would look, I imagine, something like this.....

The fireplace room is so beautiful! Love the blending of new and old, modern and traditional. And the bathroom below! Gorgeous! The unconventional colour of the walls and the chandelier balanced by the wood beams and simply framed mirror.

YES! I often say I need one extra room in the house. Just for me. Romantic, girly getaway! Just like your photos :)

I can relate. My aesthetics are somewhat different from Bob's, so it's always a compromise. Case in point: he had a huge Frankenstein poster that he wanted to bring in our apartment. I said, "no effing way". He went out and bought a coffee mug with the same picture. We're both pleased.

if this isn't a real home and you're not inviting me to stay there whenever I want then this post is just plain cruel!

SIGH!

off to daydreaming...

Love that attic closet. And I dream of a living room and incorporates hot pink and orange, but I'm sure that's a no-go with my hubs. Ha!

Oh so girly and gorgeous! Although the picture of the dining room is also man-friendly too -- it's the flowers that add that special touch we girls love!

I so know what you are talking about. Just one girlie room. And an endless budget!

i have to say i'm a big fan of using the terms masculine and feminine in decorating (they both feel like weird stereotypes to me), but i am digging these gorrrrgeous spaces! you have great taste.

Love these images ~ and you are very spot on ~ living with a man is very different than having your own 'bachelorette pad' ~ it's worth it, but a fusing of two styles for sure :)
